We anticipate a large reunion again this year. Last year, we were maxed out on housing. Please register early, and if you can share a cabin with family or friends, please indicate this on your registration. We don’t want to turn anyone away!
Guest Ministry: Paul Harding (Financial Officer for Sierra Pacific and Pacific Southwest International Mission Centers) and Curtis Harper (Campfire Leader Extraordinaire)
Paul Harding serves as the full-time mission center financial officer for the Sierra Pacific Mission Center as well as the Pacific Southwest International Mission Center in California. He works remotely from Griswold, IA where he lives with his wife, Megan, and their daughter, Clara. They moved to Claremont, CA in 2016, and decided to return to Iowa in 2022 to be closer to family. Paul majored in Religious Studies at California State University, Chico, and later attended the Community of Christ Seminary where he earned a Master’s of Arts in Religion.
Curtis Harper grew up on a farm in Woodbine, IA. Curtis attended many retreats and camps at Guthrie Grove as a child. He is looking forward to returning to the “hill.”
Curtis & his wife Christy reside in Lee’s Summit, MO where they attend Woods Chapel Congregation. Curtis has served as Co-Pastor for 2 different congregations and has been involved in the formation of a New Expression of Community of Christ. For 9 years, Curtis and Christy were congregational youth leaders, starting with just one youth.
Curtis is self-employed in the truck freight business and Christy has recently retired from a 30 year career as an RN. Their daughter Natalie is a 2021 graduate of Graceland University and lives in Michigan where she works as a CPA. Their son Shane is a 2024 Graceland graduate and is currently serving as a summer intern for the Central Mission camping program.
A scripture that has significant meaning to Curtis is “Be faithful to the spirit of the Restoration, mindful that it is a spirit of adventure, openness, and searching. Walk proudly and with a quickened step. Be a joyful people. Laugh and play and sing, embodying the hope and freedom of the gospel.” – Doctrine & Covenants 161:1b
Whether it is through worship, a class, or at campfires, it is Curtis’ hope to focus on the idea of… “Reimagining: Less about Sermons, more about Spiritual Formation.” The way of Jesus Christ is always the focus of what we do. Curtis admits that he doesn’t have any answers, just a desire to try something different….and have fun and laugh while trying.
Curtis is also known for his legendary campfire leading skills!
Cost: $250.00 per person (staying in Lodge – 5 yrs. old and older) for full week registration (or $50.00 per person/per day if a partial week registration); $235.00 per person (staying RV/Duplex/Cabin housing – 5 yrs. old and older) for full week registration (or $47.00 per person/per day if a partial week registration). All children 4 yrs. old and younger are free. Fee includes housing, food, guest ministry, and all other administrative costs. For those just attending “during the day” (no housing needed), costs are $10 per day/per person to be on the grounds, and $7 per person/per meal.
Registration: Please complete the online registration form below, as well as making your payment for Reunion (the online registration process below will automatically take you to our PayPal Site to make your payment – your registration process is not complete until you make payment – choose the option on the PayPal Site “pay with Debit or Credit Card”). Once registering, you will receive a confirmation email of your registration – a postage mail letter will be sent to you in late June, giving you further information about the Reunion schedule, housing confirmation, etc. – as well as registration payment details (payment received, and if any further payments are still owed).
